The intelligent lighting system is an extension of electromagnetic voltage regulation and electronic induction technology, which changes the additional losses caused by unbalanced loads in the lighting circuit, reduces the working temperature of lighting appliances by improving the power factor, and achieves intelligent lighting. Intelligent building refers to the combination of building structure, systems, services, management and other factors that meet the needs of users, providing them with a convenient and efficient living environment. The article introduces the practical application of intelligent lighting systems in smart buildings.

1. Problems with traditional lighting systems

The intelligent lighting system is developed based on traditional lighting, so analyzing the problems existing in traditional lighting systems can continuously improve the intelligent lighting system and enhance its lighting functions. Taking hospital buildings as an example, analyze the main problems of traditional lighting systems.

1.1 Unreasonable lighting system layout and unscientific planning

The layout and design of lighting vary in different areas of the hospital. Usually, the traditional model is based on design integration, adopting a unified plan in each area without considering the actual situation of the hospital, resulting in insufficient lighting brightness in some areas and excessive brightness in others, thereby affecting the overall lighting effect.

1.2 Lighting fixtures cannot keep up with the times

The lighting in hospitals plays an important role for both hospital workers and patients. However, the lighting fixtures in hospitals have exposed some problems, such as exposed light sources, excessive shading angles, severe flicker of lighting products, low color rendering, inconsistent color temperature, and low light output efficiency. At the same time, some damaged lighting fixtures have not been replaced in a timely manner, which will affect their lighting effect.

2. Classification and Working Principle of Intelligent Lighting Systems

The control system is the fundamental component of intelligent lighting, which controls lighting equipment in different areas according to different times and brightness levels. It is the core component of smart homes. The reason why intelligent lighting systems are deeply loved by the general public is mainly because they can be programmed and controlled according to brightness, and people can set them in advance according to different needs. These pre-set systems are called scenes, which can be automatically called by dimmer systems or good location building control systems through programming. There are many types of intelligent lighting systems, mainly divided into the following categories.

2.1 Remote control lighting

Remote control lighting is a method of controlling lamps through wireless signals, which has the characteristics of simplicity and convenience. This control technology is already very mature, using digital control to replace traditional mechanical switches for control. This control technology mainly relies on wireless digital recognition, which allows each switch to work independently and not depend on each other, so there is no interference behavior. However, wireless digital technology has the following problems: the remote control is difficult to control, and the accuracy of the receiver receiving information is difficult to sense. Wireless RF remote control has no directionality, its signal has no radiation and strong penetration, the switch is easy to replace, and the wiring is simple during installation. Only the switch and the light need to be directly connected, which does not affect the layout and aesthetics of the room.

2.2 Inductive lighting

The medium of induction lighting is humans. The human body emits heat and produces specific wavelengths of infrared radiation. Induction lighting determines whether someone has passed by a specific wavelength and controls the switch of lighting fixtures. Inductive lighting has a delay, which is the difference between it and remote control switches. According to the delay characteristic of induction lighting, the lights within its range can be controlled to achieve the function of turning on when people come and off when people leave.

2.3 Tactile Lighting

Tactile lighting is achieved by setting up sensing chips in relevant devices, mainly using capacitive sensing. The touch of the hand can change the capacitance to control the switch. There are various types of intelligent lighting systems, and different devices have different working principles, but their purpose is to serve users and achieve the popularization of intelligent control.

3. The advantages of intelligent lighting systems

With the continuous development of science and technology, intelligence has covered various industries. People's living standards are constantly improving, their consumption levels are constantly increasing, and their requirements for intelligent and comfortable living environments are also constantly increasing. The application of intelligent lighting systems can save energy and improve the service life of various electrical equipment inside buildings. The intelligent lighting system has a significant impact on electronic devices, enabling control over various electrical devices. Among them, the intelligent dimming control system can enable indoor lighting to make reasonable use of natural light according to the changes in brightness outside the building, thereby achieving energy conservation.
